The Spark of an Idea (Early 2010s)
Our founder, Nadeem, a veteran of Sharjah’s industrial sector, witnessed firsthand the growing mountains of valuable plastic scrap being destined for landfills. Recognizing the profound economic and environmental loss, the concept of Al Saham Al Ahmar was born—a targeted solution to reclaim this value and protect the local environment.
Foundation & First Operations (Mid-2010s)
With a small, dedicated team and a single processing line, Al Saham Al Ahmar officially commenced operations. Our initial focus was on sourcing high-quality post-industrial HDPE scrap from local manufacturers, establishing a reputation for reliability and impeccable material purity from day one.
Expansion into PVC & PET (Late 2010s)
Recognizing market demand and the urgent need to address other prevalent waste streams, we invested heavily in advanced sorting and washing technologies. This strategic expansion allowed us to master the complexities of PVC and PET recycling, broadening our portfolio and our environmental impact significantly.

HDPE100: The Pinnacle of Durability
High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) 100 is a high-performance thermoplastic renowned for its exceptional strength, corrosion resistance, and long lifespan. Primarily used in demanding applications like pressure pipes for gas and water distribution, its recycling requires a meticulous process to preserve these critical properties.
Our Process: We source post-industrial HDPE100 pipe scrap, off-cuts, and production rejects. Our process involves rigorous sorting to eliminate contaminants, followed by a multi-stage shredding and granulation phase to create uniform regrind. A specialized hot-washing and drying cycle removes any residual impurities, resulting in a premium-grade recycled HDPE100 material that retains its high molecular weight and structural integrity, ready for extrusion into new, non-pressurized piping, cable conduits, and durable industrial products.
PVC: Mastering Versatility
Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) is one of the world’s most versatile plastics, used in everything from window frames and flooring to packaging films and wiring insulation. However, its chlorine content presents unique recycling challenges that demand specialized knowledge and equipment to manage safely and effectively.
Our Process: Our expertise lies in handling both rigid and flexible PVC scrap. We utilize advanced optical sorters to segregate PVC by color and type. The material then undergoes a careful grinding process, followed by an intensive air classification system to separate the lighter PVC flakes from heavier contaminants. We employ a controlled-temperature washing process to avoid thermal degradation, ensuring the final PVC regrind is free from impurities and retains its key properties for use in new construction materials, automotive components, and consumer goods.
PET: The Champion of Circularity
Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) is the clear, strong, and lightweight plastic famously used for beverage bottles and food containers. Its high recyclability makes it a cornerstone of the circular economy, but achieving food-grade or high-quality fiber-grade recycled PET (rPET) requires a process of uncompromising purity.
Our Process: We handle post-consumer PET bottles and post-industrial PET packaging. Our state-of-the-art facility first de-bales and pre-washes the material. An automated sorting line removes caps (HDPE), labels (PP), and color-sorts the bottles. The sorted bottles are ground into flakes, which then enter our intensive hot-wash friction scrubbers to remove all glue and contaminants. A final flotation/sedimentation tank separates the PET from any remaining polyolefins. The result is pure, clean rPET flakes, available in clear, light blue, and green, ready to be transformed into new bottles, polyester fiber for textiles, or industrial strapping.
