We bridge the gap between waste generation and resource creation, championing the principles of a circular economy. When you partner with Al Saham Al Ahmar, you’re not just disposing of waste; you’re investing in a cleaner, more prosperous future for the UAE and the world.

Our Meticulous Plastic Recycling Process

1. Collection & Logistics

Our process begins with efficient and reliable collection. We operate a sophisticated logistics network across the UAE, providing tailored collection solutions for industrial, commercial, and post-consumer plastic waste. We work with manufacturers, retailers, and municipalities to ensure a seamless and timely pickup of scrap materials, minimizing disruption to your operations. Our fleet is equipped to handle baled, loose, or containerized plastic waste, ensuring flexibility and scalability for clients of all sizes.

2. Advanced Sorting

Sorting is arguably the most critical stage for ensuring high-quality recycled material. At our Sharjah facility, we employ a combination of manual and automated sorting technologies. Materials are sorted by polymer type (PET, HDPE, PVC, etc.), color, and form. Advanced Near-Infrared (NIR) optical sorters identify and separate different plastics with incredible accuracy, ensuring the purity of each material stream. This meticulous segregation is fundamental to producing premium-grade recycled resins that can compete with virgin materials.

3. Thorough Cleaning & Washing

Contamination is the enemy of quality recycling. Once sorted, the plastic scrap undergoes a rigorous multi-stage washing and cleaning process. We use industrial-grade washing lines to remove labels, adhesives, dirt, food residue, and other impurities. Hot washing and friction washing techniques ensure a deep clean. This stage is crucial for eliminating contaminants that could compromise the integrity and performance of the final recycled product. Our water treatment systems recycle and reuse water, minimizing our environmental impact.

4. Shredding & Grinding

The clean, sorted plastic is then mechanically reduced in size. High-torque shredders and granulators cut the material into small, uniform flakes or regrind. This size reduction makes the plastic easier to handle, process, and melt in the subsequent stages. The size and consistency of the flakes are carefully controlled to meet the specific requirements of the extrusion process, ensuring a homogenous final product. This step also facilitates a final quality check for any remaining non-plastic contaminants.

5. Compounding & Pelletizing

This is where the transformation is completed. The plastic flakes are fed into an extruder, where they are melted, homogenized, and filtered to remove any final impurities. The molten plastic is then forced through a die and cut into small, uniform pellets, also known as nurdles or resins. During this stage, we can introduce additives, colorants, or reinforcing agents to create custom-compounded materials that meet precise client specifications. The resulting pellets are cooled, dried, and packaged, ready to be used by manufacturers as a high-quality, sustainable alternative to virgin plastic.

We Specialize in a Wide Range of Polymers

Our expertise in plastic recycling in the UAE covers a comprehensive array of thermoplastic materials. We have the technology and market access to trade and process the most common, and even niche, types of plastic scrap.

HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene) – Including HDPE100

HDPE is a robust and versatile polymer known for its high strength-to-density ratio. It is one of the most recycled plastics globally. We are major traders and processors of HDPE scrap, including the highly sought-after HDPE100 grade, renowned for its use in high-pressure pipes. Our recycled HDPE is used to manufacture new bottles for non-food items, pipes, plastic lumber, bins, and more. We handle post-consumer milk jugs, shampoo bottles, and post-industrial scrap like purge, off-cuts, and regrind. Our meticulous sorting ensures we can separate natural HDPE from colored grades, maximizing its value and applications.

PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride)

PVC is a durable and long-lasting plastic used extensively in construction for pipes, window frames, flooring, and siding. Due to its durability, recycling PVC is a critical component of sustainable construction practices. Al Saham Al Ahmar is proficient in handling both rigid and flexible PVC scrap. We process off-cuts from pipe and profile manufacturing, as well as post-consumer products. Recycled PVC finds new life in applications like new pipes, fittings, flooring, traffic cones, and decking, contributing significantly to the circular economy within the UAE’s booming construction sector.

PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate)

Primarily used for beverage bottles and food containers, PET is one of the most widely recycled plastics. We process post-consumer PET bottles into clean flakes (rPET), which are in high demand for producing polyester fiber for clothing and carpets, as well as new bottles and packaging (bottle-to-bottle recycling).

LDPE/LLDPE (Low/Linear Low-Density Polyethylene)

This flexible plastic is found in films, bags, and packaging. We recycle post-industrial and post-consumer film scrap, turning it into pellets for manufacturing new trash bags, construction sheeting, composite lumber, and agricultural films. Our advanced washing lines are key to processing this often-contaminated material stream.

PP (Polypropylene)

Known for its toughness and heat resistance, PP is used in automotive parts, industrial containers, carpets, and food packaging. We process everything from car bumpers and battery casings to crates and caps. Recycled PP is used to make new automotive components, storage bins, pallets, and garden tools.
